2011 Fair Grove Farmers' Market Season will Start Strong

The Fair Grove Farmers' Markets 12TH year, Starts on Wednesday April 20TH at 3:30 PM till 7:00 PM. Hwy 125 & Main Street, Fair Grove, MO 417-459-9734 This year We will have 2 new Vendors, Mindy Collins from Fair Grove with lots of baked goods, Paul Henry of Springfield with fresh cut flowers along with some produce. The Market will have a wide variety of bedding plants this season. We are hoping for some tomatoes on opening day, so be sure and watch for updates on our website at http://www.fairgrovefarmersmarket.com/ or you can follow us on face book as well as our blog. The kids club will start on April 20Th, this is free to the Kids, for 8 weeks they will get a plant or seeds and they can learn how to grow there own garden. 4/20 Trees, 4/2 Cabbage/ cauliflower plants, 5/4 Seeds, 5/11 Tomato plants, 5/18 Seeds, 5/25 Basil plants, 6/1Cucumber/squash plants, 6/8 Flowering plants Martha Weeks of Iron wood Green House, from Fair Grove has put together and and started the plants for the Kids Club. Martha has expanded her green houses last fall and will have a bigger a wider selection of starter and flowing plants this season at the Fair Grove Farmers' Market. We are in the planning stages for other activities through out the season for the kids, so be sure and check back for updates. The Fair Grove Farmers' Market will be involved in The Market Lady project . They will be doing cooking demos, interviews with consumers and the market vendors while visiting the market. They plan on filming three segments to be used during market season. This will be shown on KY3. Watch for the dates on the markets website or on the Bulletin Board at the Market. The Fair Grove Library will be a story telling time at the Market the Last Wednesday of every month , from 4:30 till 5:30 rain or shine, so the kids can come and get a story read to them while you shop. Then on May 11TH and 18TH The Shrine unit will be at the Market Selling there Vidalia Sweet Onions they are the Keystone Kops Unit from Fair Grove. They will have Kops and Konvicts dressed in their uniforms having fun with the kids. We are so excited about this years season, last year was a challenge with the rain almost every Wednesday, but we are at the Market selling Rain or Shine. Our vendors have stepped up there production this winter so they can offer you a wider and a large selection of there produce. We accept EBT(food Stamp Cards) as well as Debit. EAT FRESH, BUY LOCAL, STAY HEALTHY The Market will have 8 vendors at the Fair Grove Business expo so be sure and stop by our booth. We will have some radishes, spinach, lettuce and a few other produce items for sale. And be sure and buy a Fair Grove Farmers' Market T-shirt and wear it to the market on opening day for a free hot dog.
